Since My Ballard’s inception, we’ve been writing about the changes to our town and the development that’s challenging the old Scandinavian vibe that my great-grandparents fell in love with nearly 100 years ago. In this morning’s PI, Aubrey Cohen writes about the changes and the “hipness” of the neighborhood: the swanky wine bars, trendy restaurants and art galleries that now come to mind when people think of Ballard. In the next 16 years, he says that we can expect 1,000 new homes to be built, most of which are condos and townhouses. There’s also a map in the article the plots the location of each new project.
