We heard the sirens around 9 p.m., so we drove to 7th Ave. and 62nd St. moments after police and medics arrived. But oddly, there were no smashed up vehicles — just some glass in the middle of the street and a garden hose on the sidewalk. Turns out, witnesses say a red pickup truck gunned it through the intersection, jammed it into reverse and flipped on its side, spilling the garden hose on the sidewalk. Within minutes, a Jeep Grand Cherokee pulled up — presumably a friend — tied a rope to the truck and pulled it upright. Witnesses say they both took off just before police arrived. Crazy.
