Kirsten emailed us this morning (Thursday):
“My boyfriend heard some crazy-sounding explosions last night. They sounded like they were moving, and went off in succession, as if the explosions were traveling around. Gunfire? Fireworks? We’re in the Loyal Heights neighborhood. Did anyone else hear or see anything?”
In the comment thread in an earlier post today, readers are also talking about explosions or gun shots. Any ideas?
Update: Laura solves the mystery in comments…
“I live across the street from Loyal Heights Elementary on 26th NW (and 80th St.) The explosions were fireworks — I could see them from my upstairs window. It looked like they may have been set off on the playground.”
