Updated: Another terrible fishing accident to report. The Ballard-based boat Katmai sunk off Alaska’s Aleutian Islands, spilling its crew of 11 into the frigid waters. A fishing boat discovered four crew members alive in a life raft. Five bodies have been recovered, and two others are still missing. The Coast Guard reported 10 to 15-foot seas in the area, with 34 mph winds and the water temperature at 43 degrees. According to the Coast Guard, the 93-foot fish processor was headed toward Dutch Island on Unalaska Island with a load of cod. The identities of the crewmembers have not yet been released.
