The Stranger did a little digging into the vacancy rates at some of Ballard’s new condos and apartments. Over half of Hjärta‘s units are available, reports The Stranger. Canal Station II has just under 40 percent of its units available.
Leva, the brand new apartment complex on Market (above), is 95 percent available, the report says. And then there’s Ballard on the Park which has 268 new units under construction in Central Ballard. Market Street Landing in the old Denny’s location is still waiting on financing. And Sunset Bowl, the new home of luxury apartments, has yet to be demolished. “I think that there was some overanticipated demand that was probably not real,” says Matthew Gardner with the real-estate analysis firm Gardner Johnson.
