If the recent sunny streak has you itching to use your green thumb, check out the Carl English botanical garden at the Locks.
There are only three paid staff that maintain the gardens, the rest of the work is done by volunteers. Jim emailed us, “My wife and daughter both volunteer two days a week for a couple of hours at a time and have a lot of fun. They work both in the greenhouse and outdoors doing everything from planting to picking up leaves, generally feeding their ‘need to garden.'” Volunteers looking to help with the gardens can contact Michelle McMorran at the Army Corps of Engineers. Her email is Michelle.k.mcmorran@usace.army.mil.

What a great family opportunity for a service project!

Thanks, skip. We fixed it.
I walk my dog here, and let her chase the squirrels the old men feed. Gosh, perhaps I should pony up and contribute.
