A well-loved dog named Bubba who greeted customers for years at the Bark pet shop along Ballard Ave. passed away last week.
“Bubba the sweet dog that has graced the store for most of his life has passed on to the doggie rainbow in the sky,” wrote My Ballard reader Nancy in an email. “Many customers that have been coming to Bark for years has gotten to know sweet Bubba. He was 14 years young and each day Karen would take Bubba out on a stroll for his daily constitutional walk and stretch.”

My condolences to Bark in their loss of departed Bubba. Edog's dog once tangled with him in the store, before we realized the space was too small for our girl to share with another canine who wanted only to say hello. Sadly now we say goodbye.
Bubba, we lift our leg, and think of you. Bow Wow Old Boy, Bow Wow!
E-dog!
my love & support sure does go out to Bubba's owner after 14 years together! Dogs are my favorite thing in this world and i know they all have to go at some point, but, it makes it no easier. Kudos to you for being SUCH a great dog mom. He will always love you and thank you for the life you gave to him. Great poster by the way! He looks ever SO happy at the beach. I have a photo of sage (my dog)that looks like it was at about the same spot!
Hopefully he remembered the pets i often gave him on his head when i would see him at the shop. He was the highlight of that store indeed!
Here's to happy helaing….woof!!
i meant healing
Very sad. He was such a sweet dog.
My condolences to Bubba's people. It's so hard when you lose a loved one like that, and I'm very sorry to hear the news.
Many smiles have graced my face after seeing this sweet dog relaxing in the window at Bark.
One great thing about dogs is they never know of the sadness they will most surely leave behind. They only experience the joy they bring when they are here.
Condolences…
Bubba will be missed. From one Cattle Dog mom to another – my deepest condolences.
I've heard tell that when you die and enter heaven all the dogs that you've loved come running to greet you.
I like to think this is true. Give Bubba a big hug…

when you connect with an animal, you feel your heart strings tugging…..he will be missed by everyone who knew him and his sweet disposition.
I just lost my dog Bubba who was almost 9. He was truly my best friend and travel companion. He has seen ten states with me, and he will truly be missed in my back seat. I understand your sorrow over the loss of your Bubba. Cheers to Bubbas everywhere.
