Whittier Elementary is getting a new principal starting the 2009-2010 school year. Superintendent Maria Goodloe-Johnson and Chief Academic Officer Carla Santorno have confirmed Linda Robinson to the post. Ms. Robinson has served six years as principal at Bryant Elementary and as assistant principal and head teacher at Kimball Elementary. She received her BA in English Literature from the University of Oregon, her K-12 certification from the University of Hawaii, her reading endorsement from Seattle Pacific University and her principal certification and a Masters of Education from UW.

What happened to the last principal – wasn't she only there for a year or two? Was she only an interim principal? She seemed like a neat person. Hopefully this next principal will be good too.
My daughter attends Whittier – we got a letter this week that just said Mrs McMillian will be reassigned within the district. My experiences with her weren't pleasant, but I'm just one parent, and have heard mixed reviews on her performance.
My daughter loves “Miss Mac” though and was sad when I told her she was leaving.
Principal reassignments are not uncommon and sometimes it takes a while to find the best fit for a school. it is my sincere hope that this does not turn into one big Whittier gossip session.

Yes, don't question your school leaders. Be silent, obey the SPS.
Oh AP,
I have known 4 different pricipals of Whitter over the course of the last dozen years or so- not this last one though….
They all had their strong points and weaknesses.
We aren't saying be silent – obey SPS
What we are saying is:
“don't get your panties in a bunch”
and that other old adage – “if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.”
