Archie McPhee, the quirky shop on Market, has just one more month in Ballard. As they continue to pack up and move their bazzillion trinkets, some things aren’t going with them to the new store, like this 8 foot rocket.
“Surely one of our customers has a space-themed breakfast nook that would be enhanced with a cool rocket!” they wrote in an email. If your nook isn’t decorated in “outer space chic” then maybe you’d be more interested in the embroidered “Free Ballard” patch. Just print this coupon and bring it in.
On the other side of Hwy 99, workers are busy transforming the formerly drab, gray liquor store building into something more, well, Archie McPhee. Here are some sneak peek pics of their new shop in Wallingford.

Fremont has a rocket. I don't think that Ballard can afford to lose this rocket to Wallingford and fall behind in the arms race of North Seattle. Our very security depends on it!
rockets and space exploration don't have to be about an arms race.
there is such a thing as scientific curiousity you know.
Sorry, I'm already building one in my basement.
Also sorry I won't be able to walk to Archie's anymore. Ah, well….
That rocket is AWESOME! How much for that thing?
Ah, you are so naive. All your scientific curiosity has been co-opted by our arms race! Who do you think has been paying the bills?
Buy it and we can aim it at the hippies in Fremont.
