On Wednesday evening we learned that 57 recently laid off teachers would be getting their jobs back. This morning we’ve learned that only six of the 21 laid off from Ballard-area schools will be returning. David Tucker of Seattle Public Schools sent us the breakdown of numbers: Two teachers from both Ballard High School and West Woodland Elementary have been recalled and just one from Salmon Bay and Adams Elementary will be back to work in the fall. Tucker says, “To the extent possible under the recall procedure, we are working to enable these teachers to return to their original positions.”

Glad to hear some of the teachers have been recalled. There is still time before next school year; hopefully more will get their call!
