The zoo isn’t really in Ballard, but this picture is too cute not to post.
This is a proud papa of the 20-day old tawny frogmouth chick (in the background) that hatched on June 4th at Woodland Park Zoo. Right now the chick weighs 5.9 ounces and zookeepers say that both parents are doing a good job caring for it. For now the little guy (or gal) is being kept out of the public eye. For more on the tawny frogmouth chick check out the zoo’s blog. Photo by Ryan Hawk.

I'm not big on birds, but this is adorable. God luck, little guy.
Whatever those things are, they're terrifying.
That is what happens when you don't vacuum under the bed for too long!
We need to form a group to free these beautful animals from the zoo! Who will join me and start “Friends of the Woodland Park Zoo Tawny Frogmouths”?
Please join us at FOWZTF and stop the torture!
Quiet before someone tosses an expired salmon at you! ;-)
Aww! I still think he's cute. Kind of a haunted forest type of bird. He aint no sparrow!
