If you heard lots of sirens around 11:30 p.m. last night, police from all over Seattle were scrambling to 79th and Greenwood for a massive party that turned into mayhem. Officers report 350 people crammed into a room with 200 more outside. As the party was shut down, fights broke out, shots were fired, and “officers were surrounded by converging crowds while seeking to break up fights,” police say.
