Last Friday firefighters with the Seattle Fire Department helped raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association by “Filling the Boot” at major intersections, including 15th and Market here in Ballard. Now the MDA says it raised $66,758, up from $56,000 last year. “I was sincerely touched by the level of generosity during such tough economic times,” said MDA’s Rachel Kanter, who thanks everyone for their donations.

ok – speaking of fireman, recently, I have seen a couple of them from the Market Street station running around Ballard and all I wanna say is I guess the whole firefighter hot guy thing is true. seriously..
they keep the ugly ones down at the station.
you also didn't see any of the fat ones holding up the boot. great p.r.!
Cool!
And, yeah, it didn't hurt the cause to have hot firemen asking me for money. I'd roll down my window for that! :-)
