Girls on the Run of Puget Sound is looking for women to help teach the next generation about self respect and healthy living.
The local non-profit uses a running curriculum to teach 8-11 year-olds topics like body image, media awareness, nutrition, emotional health, and positive communication. They are looking for both head coaches and assistant coaches. The time commitment ranges from 1.5-3 hours per week for the assistant coach to 5 hours per week for the head coach. There are 14 locations throughout the city, including at Loyal Heights Elementary and Greenwood Elementary. Coaches do not need to be elite runners, just live a healthy lifestyle and be committed to improving the lives of girls. Applications are due by September 4th for the fall season that kicks off on September 28th. All the coaching information and application can be found here.
