With just a few days left, Epilogue Books at the corner of 20th and Market still has plenty of books on the shelves.
We stopped in to Epilogue this afternoon to see how their “going out of business sale” is going. Nathan, the owner, tells us that business has been really good since King5 profiled the business on Monday. Even today people are coming in after seeing Tim Robinson’s piece. But there are still quite a few books to sell before their last day on Sunday. The prices are slashed on all remaining books. All hardbacks are $2, softcover books are $1, mass market paperbacks are $.50, DVDs are $2 and kids books are $.25 to $1. The bookshelves are also for sale, so is the sign box. We asked Nathan what he plans to do once the store is closed. He said he didn’t really know. “Maybe I’ll write that book I’ve always wanted to write,” he laughed.

I was just there yesterday and not only do they have a lot of books left but they have a lot of really good books left. They aren't just the dregs of books that no one will ever want to read – there are still best sellers and classics and plain ole good books. It was hard to leave the store without buying enough to fill up a moving van.
So going out of business is good for business.
I have a $30 gift certificate and I am unable to contact them, their website has no e-mail address, and the phone number has been disconnected. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting a hold of someone?
