At a time when many restaurants and local businesses are struggling to keep their doors open, Thai Siam is celebrating their 22nd year in Ballard.
The Thai restaurant at 8305 15th Ave NW is holding their 22nd annual benefit dinner this coming Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. to raise money for three charitable organizations. The buffet-style dinner will feature fares from its menus. Entertainment includes authentic Thai classical music, Thai classical dancers and local performances. Over the last 21 years they have raised more than $210,000 for local, national and international charities. This year, 100 percent of the proceeds will go toward the Union Gospel Mission in Seattle, Neighborcare Health Medical Centers, and the School for Crippled and Blind Children in Thailand. The cost is $20 for adults and $6 for kids under 12. (Disclosure: Thai Siam is a sponsor of MyBallard.)

It never fails to amuse me that the Thai Siam benefit is the same weekend as Hempfest every single year. Coincidence or sheer genius?
I've tried to go every year for the last few years, but it's always so jam packed we have to wait 45 minutes to an hour for a table. If you're going to go, go early!
12 years ago I went with friends, and we got to sample *all* the desserts… Yum!
The benefit has gotten really crowded, and that's a great thing for the causes Thai Siam supports, despite the wait.
Nancy & the family are really great people as well. :)
This is fabulous!
I wish I didn't already have unshakable plans for Sunday.
i love this event and their purpose. they are such a valuable part of ballard.
This is a great cause. We've gone in the past and enjoyed the food and entertainment.
I love the thai Siam annual dinner. It's such a great tradition! Eventhough, it is sometimes crowded but it's definitely worth the wait.
