Twice a year the trees become breathtaking. In the spring when pink blossoms have overtaken the flowering plum trees and right now when the green leaves are turning into bright red/yellow/orange flames. It’s going to be a sunny, cool fall weekend. Take a stroll around the neighborhood and enjoy the trees.

Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is the “Swedish Iron” Volvo and Saab Car Show. Vintage and restored Swedish cars will be on display at the Leif Erikson Plaza on Seaview Ave near the Leif Erikson statue. The newly restored Nordic Spirit viking ship will sail through the Locks at approximately 10:15 and make its way to the car show around 11 a.m.
Saturday is also the Mobile Chowdown in Interbay from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Check out Seattle’s mobile cuisine scene.
The Ballard Corners Park official grand opening celebration is Saturday at 11 a.m on 17th Ave NW between NW 62nd and NW 63rd. Free Veraci pizza and a great list of speakers.
Saturday evening is the monthly Art Walk. Head downtown Ballard from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. to enjoy the art, the shops and the food.
