Phase two of Conor Byrne remodel begins

It’s on to phase two of the Conor Byrne facelift which includes upgrading the entire facade of the 15-year-old bar.

Over the next two weeks, crews will be demolishing the current facade and building the new one. Once completed, the entire front will be windows with a double door. Construction starts this coming Sunday, October 18th and the bar will be closed through Wednesday, October 21st. Although the work won’t be completed, the general manager Diarmuid Cullen tells us they’ll be “done enough to open up for the weekend.” Earlier this summer the giant refrigerator that was parked in front of the windows was moved to the other end of the bar.

  1. Thanks for the update, I had no idea they were doing that! I love that place and am super glad that Cathy Casey didn't get her way to shut the place down!

  2. A lot more open, and a lot more natural light. That'll be good because when it's just after opening and only a few people at the bar it's a little dark and sad in there.
    Yay!

  3. I never minded the darkness back when it was the Owl! But that was almost a generation ago. The proposed upgrades in the drawing looks great.

Now I'll be thinking about the Atlantics all day.
