Tis the season for Santa, holiday decor and shopping locally.
After the summer’s Tuesdays in Ballard campaign (which Seattle Magazine called the best effort to shop locally), the In Ballard Merchants Association is once again reminding folks of the great eats, drinks and shops in Ballard. This winter they’re looking for a few elves to help out with a few of the holiday events they have planned, including a visit by Santa, a party at Bergen Place with DJ Vinny and a luminary walk. The volunteer information can be found here (.pdf).

Cool! I wanna be an elf! :-)
You know what, we should put a luminary walk on the Burke…oh that's right, the Merchant Association joined the lawsuit to block its completion.
Hello Claude,
I'm the secretary of the In Ballard Merchants Association, and I want to let you know that we do not have a political agenda at all. We have not filed any lawsuits regarding any local issues, including the Missing Link.
We are a group of local merchants that formed the IBMA last summer as a way of pooling our advertising resources as well as creating fun events and activities to promote Ballard to the region as a destination to Eat, Drink, Shop, Play.
You can learn more about our organization on our website: http://www.inballard.com
We are excited about our upcoming December events and we hope that everyone will come out to enjoy the festivities!
Cheers,
Laura
Since you are blogging, I have a question:
Whatever happened to the snowflakes that used to be put on the light poles?
I think you're mixing up the merchant association with the chamber of commerce.
