A record-breaking crowd turned out for this year’s Turkey Trot, a 5k run/jog/walk through Sunset Hill and down to Golden Gardens.
With more than 700 people pre-registered and more dropping in this morning, the third annual fundraiser for the Ballard Food Bank surpassed last year’s turnout of 200 people by a long shot.
Thanks to Sunrise/Sunset and Jessie for the photos!

Nice pics, guys! Cute turkey. ;-)
Way to go everyone!!!
Excellent. :-)
It was so much fun! And the rain stopped mostly too… what a great start to Thanksgiving. Thanks to the organizers and all my fellow runners/walkers! (Also to all the fit pooches!)
I walk/jogged this with my Golden and now cant feel my legs :-)
What a great cause and what a great turnout! Lets shoot for 2000 people next year!
And, as someone who was coming down the hill above Golden Gardens as all the participants were going up to the start, I can say that folks were in high spirits and did hardly any audible grumbling about this aggressive warm up at the beginning! Great job all!
Had a great time for a good cause. Thanks also to Dante's for the support!
If this event gets any bigger, the course needs to be relocated off of 34th NW and have appropriate staffing for safety reasons.
