Each year the Home Street Bank at 8050 15th Ave NW has a giving tree to help those in need. This year they’ve decided to help the small businesses damaged or destroyed by the Greenwood Arsons.
“Our branch is proximate to the area hard hit by the string of Greenwood area arson fires and we watched, with heartfelt sympathy, as one business after another was set ablaze,” Maggie McKelvy the Assistant Vice President / Branch Manager emailed us. “We were also motivated by the show of support from other area businesses, such as Sip and Ship, and wanted to find a way that we too could step in and support.” She says Green Bean Coffee, Taproot Theater and Moon Photo are all in need of Home Depot gift cards to help rebuild and Taproot could benefit from JoAnn Fabrics gift cards as they restock their costume closet. “We are adding wishes and updating our tags as requests come in,” McKelvy writes. On the larger end, Green Bean is in need of a refrigerator for their milk. Donations can be made until Christmas Eve, December 24th.
PhinneyWood.com has a list of other businesses who are helping the Greenwood Fire Relief Fund.
