This coming Saturday, Ballard will be lit with one thousand luminaries.
The In Ballard Merchants Association is looking for volunteers to help build and distribute the luminaries throughout the retail core. “It will be a fun neighborhood work party, and hopefully the start of an annual tradition,” said Tiffany Gabrel, owner of Mon Petit Shoe and the event coordinator. Along with the twinkles, the association will have horse drawn hay rides and participating shops will be handing out goodies. The work starts at 1 p.m. at Bergen Place and the event goes from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Holidays in Ballard is a sponsor of MyBallard.)

If you want to volunteer – do you just show-up at 1pm at Bergen Place?
thanks!
The first Holidays in Ballard story had a contact e-mail. Tiffany at: volunteers@inballard.com
Note to the Swedes: info on *how* to volunteer is great with articles like this. :) I'm also interested in helping out, but how to sign up? Call Mon Petit Shoe?
Oops. I hadn't refreshed the page to see Nora's response. :)
Hi everyone,
Thank you for your questions about volunteering. You don't need to sign up to volunteer. You can just come on over to Bergen Place at 1 pm on Saturday to help out.
We'll need lots of people to make it all come together, so bring your friends.
Cheers,
Laura

Thanks, Laura! How long is the volunteering effort going to be? I wanted to volunteer for this one but I've got to be somewhere at 3:30 that day.
Hi Norabell,
We'd love to have your help. Any window of time that works for you would be great. If you need to leave at 3 or whenever, no problem!
We appreciate any time that you can give and look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
