You can go ahead and forget what your mom taught you about “library voices” today. The Ballard Library (5614 22nd Ave. N.W) is hosting an electronic game time this afternoon. Play Wii Rock Band and Dance Dance Revolution in the Meeting Room from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. “Spend the last Friday of your mid-winter break hanging out with us!” the library folks emailed us. 5th graders and up are welcome alone, younger kids need to bring an adult. There will also be a wide variety of board games available if “DDR” isn’t your thing. For more information call Lynn or Jesten at the Ballard Library, 684-4089. (Next week they’ll be hosting a team trivia night for 4th-8th graders from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Form a team of 2-4 people, pick a team name, and head to the Meeting Room for trivia.)

Video games at a library? Is this how they waste our tax dollars?
Would you rather teens hang out at 7-11?
Maybe you need to set your standards higher than those two choices?
This is a great on-going program launched by our fabulous Ballard librarians who are always thinking outside the box. Is it coincidence that those who show up usually saunter into the library to check out a book or two??? Keep up the great work Lynn, Jesten and Sara!
