Updated: The annual Pancake Breakfast at the Loyal Heights Community Center (2101 NW 77th St) was a success!
On Sunday morning neighbors from around Ballard made their way to the all-you-can-eat pancake feed. The fundraiser raises money to support kids who wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate in the center’s activities.
Last year they served more than 500 people, and this year it looks like they will break that number. Just before 11 a.m. Melissa Valenzuela, the center coordinator, emailed us, “We finished the numbers with 701 people served, and we generated near $2,000 in funds for scholarships and teen programming. Wow! What a turnout…we are consistently growing and growing. Thanks to all of our volunteers, supporters, Advisory Council members and loyal neighbors. We saw a lot of familiar and new faces.”
