In 2008, KEXP brought a day of music to Ballard after our neighborhood won the “Hood-to-Hood Challenge.” This year, West Seattle won. Now KEXP is looking for which neighborhood will get the day-long music fest in 2011.

The membership drive pits neighborhood against neighborhood to see which ‘hood can raise the most money for the non-profit, independent radio station. Donations start at $10 with goodies for those who donate $100 or more.

The membership drive is underway and goes until June 11th, that’s this Friday. Right now Ballard is in third place behind Capitol Hill and Queen Anne/Magnolia. The winning neighborhood will get a full line-up of musical acts performing in different venues around the neighborhood.
