The Ballard Boys and Girls Club is still raising money for its 5,000 square foot expansion project.

This weekend you can donate to the project at the 6th Annual Ballard Boys & Girls Club “Raise the Roof BBQ and Auction.” All the proceeds from the night will go toward the capital campaign fund to expand the facility. “We still have $150,000 to go for the project and are hoping to raise $50,000 from the BBQ/Auction this weekend,” Brent Edgar, the Education Director at the club tells us.
The club currently has split classrooms. Kindergarten and 1st graders in one room, 2nd and 3rd graders in another room, etc. The proposed remodel will double their current size and allow them to put each grade in its own room. The plan is to build out where the parking lot is and reconfigure the parking situation to add more spaces.

The event is this Saturday, June 19th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost is $55 per ticket and you get a BBQ dinner, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. There will be a silent and live auction with trips, tickets to Mariners and Sounders games and more. Click here (.pdf) for more information and how to buy tickets.
This is a great and worthy cause in my view. Why can’t Ballard support more causes like these?
I will be there this saturday for sure.
agreed.
I’m still not too fond of the parking lot entry from 63rd–seems like it will be steep and difficult to navigate.
but it’s a great cause that deserves to succeed.
