Emotional memorial for fire victims

Hundreds of people, including family members, public officials, firefighters and complete strangers attended the emotional memorial today at Key Arena for the five victims of last weekend’s tragic fire in Fremont.

“They may be gone but they are not alone,” Daniel Gebregiorgis said of his sister Eyerusalem Gebregiorgis, 22, and nieces and nephews, Joseph Gebregiogis, 13, Nyella Smith, 7, Nisreen Shamam, 6, and Yaseen Shaman who had just turned 5.

Our sister site FremontUniverse.com was at the service and has the entire story.

  1. So sad this happened. We donated to the Children’s Fire Fund. Hope the survivors get through this. Please donate if you can.
    Thanks.
