This Saturday, September 4th, Sustainable Ballard is hosting the “End of Summer Golden Gardens Party and Bonfire.” The party starts at 6 p.m. on the beach. From the Sustainable Ballard website, “Hang out with good people! Watch a sunset! Bring a dish to share, your plate, cup and utensils, something to sit on, something to keep warm, wood if you have it, a friend or family!” Just look for the yellow Sustainable Ballard flags. S’mores will be provided.

Bonfire? what about the CO2?
It’s OK — we’ll offset it by not breathing that evening.
Sustainable Hypocrisy is more like it.
Oh-so-holier than thou – but let’s burn some trees just for fun!
Remember this when they start lecturing you for taking your groceries home in -GASP! – a paper bag!
huh?
they actually wouldn’t have any problem with a paper bag, since paper bags are made of mostly recycled paper and are compostable. go shop at any PCC and you’ll notice that they still use paper bags.
Sounds like fun. Especially the s’mores! I hope they have good weather!
Actually, I’m in a PCC every couple of days. They look shocked, sneer a little bit, and make a sour face if I accept the offer of a paper bag. Pretty much every time.
funny, my wife and i shop there too, almost exclusively in fact, and have never gotten any reaction when i forget to bring my own bags and they have to give me paper bags
maybe because you go in 3 or 4 days a week and don’t think to just bring your own bags, or are too cheap to buy them. or maybed you’re just exaggerating?
