Dish it up! is now open at 5320 Ballard Avenue NW.
This is the second location for Dish it up! The first is in the heart of the Magnolia Village.
The shop on Ballard Ave is full of kitchen gadgets, cookware and small kitchen appliances. There’s even a section in the store for cabinets, countertops and other kitchen-remodeling needs.
But when you walk in, you can’t miss the 24-seat cooking demonstration area. The giant granite countertop surrounds two stove tops. There are multiple ovens, a refrigerator, cabinets and two closed-circuit televisions so you never miss what’s going on.
On Sunday, Chef Roy Breiman of Cedarbrook Lodge (formerly the executive chef at the Salish Lodge) held a “Micro Market Class.” During the 90 minute course, he took participants around the Ballard Farmers Market, bought seasonal food and did a cooking demo. Classes range in price from Free to $85. (Disclosure: Dish it up! is a sponsor of MyBallard.)
staff was really nice. I got some really affordable dish towels there.
Wonderful staff. Glad to see more kitchen stores in Ballard with a cooking class element!
“dish it up”? — a kathy kasey lawsuit forthcoming?
Why would Kathy Kasey sue Dish it up? The article states this is the second store, the first one has been in Magnolia for over six years. Kathy Kasey’s defunct Ballard Ave restraunt was called Dish D’lish. Is nobody allowed to use the word ‘dish’ in a business name? If that’s the case what are the other Ballard areas businesses supposed to do with that word in their name?
easy fella, i was joking around.
stop arguing with yourself.
I love this store. I can’t wait to take a class there. It is a great setting right in with all the restaurants. I was disappointed that they didn’t have the collapsible salad spinner I was looking for or a lettuce keeper. But otherwise they are a great resource.
