If you’re planning on running (or walking) the 4th annual Turkey Trot, tomorrow is the last day to register and be guaranteed a t-shirt.
As of Monday, 801 people have signed up to participate in the Thanksgiving day event. Mary Beth Lambert, one of the organizers, tells us that they’re hoping to beat last year’s record of more than 1100 participants. The 5k walk/run/jog raises money for the Ballard Food Bank. Last year nearly $20,000 was donated.
Registration is open until November 23rd, but you won’t be guaranteed a t-shirt.
You can also support World Hunger Relief by joining area churches for the 11th annual Turkey Trot (the original) around Greenlake at 8:30 am on November 26th. It’s a great event for everybody and a chance to walk off some turkey. Both events are a great way to support hunger efforts and get some exercise.
