The second annual Ballard Film Festival: An Evening of Shorts is Friday.

From 7 to 9 p.m. watch short films from Ballard filmmakers of all ages. Students from Adams Elementary will show their Penny Harvest launch video “The Superhero Search.” Other student works come from Reel Grrls and the award-winning Ballard High School Video Production Program. The 2009 Seattle International Film Festival “Anatomy of a Fly” film and a preview of John Helde’s (Made in China) latest documentary “120 Acres: An American Farm” will also be shown.
Following the screenings, there will be time for Q & A with the filmmakers.

The family-friendly event will be held at the Sunset Hill Community Club (3003 NW 66th St.) for a suggested $1 donation. Adams students will also be collecting pennies for the Penny Harvest.
