“It’s happening!” the sign on the door of Lunchbox Laboratory (7302 1/2 15th Ave NW) says. The burger joint is moving to South Lake Union. The Ballard spot will close this Sunday, December 19th. More information on the SLU location will be available early next year sometime.

oh CRAP.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! I live 3 blocks away… Noooooooo!!!!!
No big deal, their burgers are overpriced and greasy crap.
Good riddance to overpriced heart attacks of questionable origin.
Yeah, the one and only time I ate there they served me an almost raw burger.
Good riddance. I will miss eating lunch with diesel fuel shooting out at me on one side and huge piles of garbage on the other. Oh, wait – no, I won’t.
I’m so bummed that they’re leaving my ‘hood, but thrilled for them that they have found a better locale!! One of the best burgers in Seattle & they are such nice people.

Why do I feel like Ballard was used? If it was a question of space, there’s plenty in Ballard.

i wonder how their customer service will go over in that ‘hood…or maybe it won’t matter since the food is so popular. i didn’t say “awesome”, but “popular”.
either way i wish good luck to any small business making a go at it.
So glad I won’t have to walk by their piles of overflowing and crow-picked-over garbage anymore. I really could never understand how people could eat on those outside tables.
as a business, i can’t believe they’re still up and running. it’s gotta be the food.
That place was mank. I felt like I needed a shower after the one time I ate there.
Can’t say, “See ya”, quick enough for overpriced, marginal food. But it was never as bad as their customer service.
See ya! worst burger joint in Ballard.
It sounds like the guy that owns the restaurant now that they are moving into is becoming an investor, so probably continuing a lease or something already in place.
This place was over my head. Friends of mine raved about it and so we made plans to go but by the time we got there they were out of…food…or something? It was bizarre and I was not understanding their inventory control process whatsoever. Basic flaky Seattle operation.
Yeah, I wonder how the side of rude with every order will go over down there. Not going to miss this joint.
cya!
Let’s all hope they find a place they can keep a bit cleaner. I don’t care to eat off tables covered with hair and grease. It also seemed to attrack scruffy people. May South Lake Union will be a better crowd.
scruffy people?
BooHoo, where will I go to get a $hitty burger with $hitty service …
