Gayle Brown, the mother of two girls caught in last week’s early morning fire, wrote a three-part thank you on the MyBallard Facebook page. It reads:
I knew we were cared about and have some truly wonderful and giving friends, but you really don’t see the extent of it until something so tragic happens and everyone came forward. People whom you don’t know just open there hearts and give. I have never been on the receiving end of anything so loving and selfless. I am …so grateful to you all, my daughters and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Gayle Brown and Ashley and Cierra Luberts.
Well my daughter and I are finally home, I put Cierra to bed at 9pm, hoping she has a full night of peaceful sleep. Ashley is sleeping in her room for the first time since the fire. I took a shower and am now sitting here at my computer crying and reading the hundreds of comments I have received…. I grew up in Ballard my whole life, on 28th and 68th NW. All my daughters went to Loyal Heights Elementary. We moved to Lynnwood 5 years ago but are often in Ballard due to friends and taking the girls to there Dad’s for the weekend. It is still our home. I want to thank each and every one of you for your prayers, flowers, and wonderful comments about my beautiful daughters and just everything. It is very overwhelming.
We did start a foundation called The Luberts Fund and donations can be sent or takin in to any Keybank location. You can contact me via vrsgayle@comcast.net if you needed. We truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
