Today is the American Heart Association’s National Start! Walking Day, a day that they hope will get people on their feet for at least 30 minutes.
From the Puget Sound Heart Walk website:
Get up and move! These days, adults are spending more time at work than ever before. An unfortunate side effect is that, as a nation, we’re becoming more inactive. This is a problem you can help fix by convincing your organization to take part in National Start! Walking Day on Wednesday, April 6. On this day, everyone is encouraged to wear sneakers to work and take at least 30 minutes to get up and walk.
At noon today, a group at Swedish Ballard will go for a one-mile walk around campus. If you’re interested in walking with them, meet Lynn Tissell, Pam Barber and Staci Olafson at the Tallman Street entrance.
If you can’t make it at noon (sorry for the short notice), click here for Seattle walking maps.
