Tonight is the monthly “Ask The Mayor” show on the Seattle Channel hosted by C.R. Douglas. If you’ve never seen the show, Mayor Mike McGinn answers questions from the public on a range of topics. In last month’s show, Mayor McGinn said, “I don’t care how people get around. If they choose to drive, they choose to drive. I can’t get my wife out of a car, so I’m not going to try to get other people out of their cars either.” (See last month’s episode here.)
The show airs live from 7 to 8 p.m. If you have an issue, concern, or question you’d like answered, you can call 206-684-8821, email askthemayor@seattle.gov or Tweet to @SeattleChannel. The show airs on cable channel 21 or online here.
Unfortunately only the cranks have time to turn out for these events, ie. McSchwinn’s base.
Oh man. I’ve got so many words I could say to that schmuck (can’t print them here folks).
Why not call or write in a question and ask about something in this city that bothers you, a pothole, or schools, or traffic? Ask who can you call in the city to fix a certain problem. You might not only get an answer for your problem, but someone else with the same problem can find a solution. Or are you the only person living in the city, so it’s all about you?
Yea, much easier to sit on the sidelines and take potshots rather than ask a question and try to make this city a better place to live.
“Turn out for these events?” It’s on TV, you only have to move your finger an inch or so, you don’t even have to get off the couch.
If you don’t care about this city, then why even bother living here?
And just to put my money where my mouth is, here is my email to the show. Criticize it all you want, but you have the exact same opportunity to do so and have a chance for your voice to be heard, so have at it. In addition, the show is taped and can be watched on the Seattle channel’s website at a later time, if the time slot interferes with your weekly tiddlywinks hoo-haw.
“Mr Mayor,
There is this perception out there that your administration solely favors bike mobility above all other forms of transportation among other criticisms.Could you specify some other initiatives you are proud of that critics may not know about?Thank you,Don”
Why don’t all you teabaggers run for mayor if you don’t like the current one?
