Seattle Police have re-booked the suspect in last week’s abduction and rape for armed robbery, after identifying him as a possible suspect in a series of armed robberies:
From the SPD Blotter:
During the course of the on-going Sexual Assault Unit investigation into the Greenwood abduction and rape, Robbery detectives recognized the 24-year-old male suspect as a possible suspect in a series of armed robberies currently under investigation. The Robbery Unit was also contacted by a street robbery victim who told detectives that she recognized the suspect from photographs disseminated in the media.
On June 30th Robbery Unit detectives confirmed the identity of the suspect involved in several of the recent armed robberies. The robbery suspect happens to be the same 24-year-old male suspect who committed the Greenwood abduction and rape.
The suspect will be re-booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
This remains an active and on-going Sexual Assault and Robbery investigation.
The suspect was caught on surveillance tape at a Shoreline convenience store after abducting a woman near North 97th Street and Dayton Avenue North last week.
The suspect was arrested two days ago after a Ballard bar manager recognized him as a regular customer.
