Teen accused of murder expected to face jury

The now 19-year-old accused of killing a Ballard convenience store employee in July of 2009 may soon face a jury for the crime.

At his initial arraignment in August of 2009, Elijah Hall pleaded ‘not guilty’ to first-degree murder charges in the shooting death of Manish Melwani at the Pit Stop gas station at 15th Ave NW and NW 58th St.

In November of that same year, he pleaded guilty at a court hearing. Then in January 2010, on the day he was to be sentenced, Hall dismissed his attorney and withdrew his guilty plea.

According to the SeattlePI.com, “Hall is expected to face a jury in the coming days,” writes Levi Pulkkinen. Hall is charged with first-degree murder and remains in jail. (File photo courtesy KEN LAMBERT/THE SEATTLE TIMES.)
