It’s time to act if you want in on free trees from the city. The application deadline is Monday, October 24th.
As we wrote back in August, the free trees are part of Seattle’s reLeaf program. There are only three species left to choose from – the Shore Pine, the Deodar Cedar and the Western Red Cedar – and each household can get up to four trees. You can still apply for the seven other species, but will be placed on a wait list.
Here are some rules:
Trees are limited and applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The application deadline for street trees has already passed. Yard tree applications are due Monday. Attend a planting and care workshop and pick up your tree(s) on either October 30th at the Carkeek Environmental Learning Center or November 12th at the Garfield Community Center.
