The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is making crossing Leary Ave NW a little easier between NW Vernon Place and NW Market Street.
Starting tomorrow, SDOT paving crews will start a two-week project to add curb bulbs, curb ramps and new a new crosswalk at the mid-block crossing. Curb bulbs extend the sidewalk into the street, making the crossing distance for pedestrians shorter. Part of the sidewalk will remain open, but on-street parking will be limited.
This project is one of 50 crossing improvements that SDOT is working on this year. The project is funded by the Bridging the Gap initiative approved by voters.
