After a big win last week, Ballardite Tom Nissley is back on Jeopardy tonight (7:30 p.m., channel 4) for the conclusion of the Tournament of Champions.
Nissley will be on both Monday and Tuesday during the two-day final. The money totals from both days will be added up to determine the winner. He will be playing against Buddy Wright and Roger Craig, who won Thursday and Friday.
Chris Jones of Esquire magazine compares Nissley to professional golfer Phil Mickelson. Jones writes, “Especially early on in the game, when he still has the time to recover from mistakes, Nissley takes big chances and often falls behind because of them. In fact, like Mickelson, he sometimes makes gaffes that seem inexplicable for someone with his gifts. But when he’s right, he’s very right, and he becomes almost impossible to catch.” You can read more from Jones here.
Nissley qualified for the Tournament after his eight-day winning streak last December.
