Updated: Today is the final day to register for the fifth annual Seattle Turkey Trot and get your preferred shirt size. The Turkey Trot is a 5k run/walk on Thanksgiving morning.
Join about 2,000 of your neighbors and help raise money for the Ballard Food Bank. “During Thanksgiving, people spend a lot of time thinking about food. We want to raise money for those in our community who are helping the hungry,” says Matt Ramme, one of the event’s organizers. “We chose the Ballard Food Bank because it is a local Ballard non-profit and people can connect the run with a nearby organization.”

More than $19,000 was donated by 1,100 participants last year. Many were dressed up for the holiday.
If you register after today’s deadline, you will still be able to sign up online but you will not be able to request your preferred shirt size. Online registrations will end completely on November 22nd. Late registrations (tomorrow through the 22nd) will be able to get shirts on a first come, first served basis, as long as supplies last. You can register day-of but won’t be guaranteed a shirt.
The Seattle Turkey Trot is at 9 a.m. on Thursday, November 24th at 32nd Ave NW and NW 85th St, near the Caffe Fiore. More information and registration is here.
