Late last week this fire hydrant at the corner of 77th and 25th was literally broken in half.
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is responsible for the hydrants and crews went out on Friday to pick it up. “It wasn’t spewing water, but apparently had been struck by a car,” Ingrid Goodwin with SPU tells us. “It will take two to three weeks for the hydrant to be replaced. The Seattle Fire Department has been notified that the hydrant is temporary out of service.” (Thanks Legh for the tip!)
