The Holiday Festival & Art Sale is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Loyal Heights Community Center (2101 NW 77th). This event features local artist and craft vendors, music and entertainment, crafts and activities for kids, and a drop and shop play area. Please come and show your support of your local community center. Santa Claus will be there from noon to 1 p.m. Bring your little one to the community center for crafts, cocoa and a candy cane from Santa Claus. Don’t forget your camera.The Ballard Landmark (5433 Leary Ave NW) is holding an electronics recycling event on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. “You can bring anything that plugs in aside from refrigerators and air conditioning units. A great way to dispose of all the electronics lying around the house without having to pay fees!” writes leerae in the MyBallard forum.The Seattle Mandolin Orchestra Holiday Concert will play a concert at the Ballard Library on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. Christmas and Hanukkah tunes from America and around the world will be featured. Come to listen or sing along, and bring the kids!Jeff Johnson, Brian Dunning and Coram Deo Ensemble will perform Celtic, classical, and contemporary music for the Advent season at Northminster Presbyterian Church (7706 25th Ave NW) starting at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.A collection of Seattle-based artists and designers will be selling handmade gifts at Matheia School (2205 NW 67th St) on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Gifts include organic linens, felted wool slippers, Jasmine Chai and specialty tea tasting, GF baked goods, Frankencreature and Mummyman T-shirts by TheO (Matheia student!), Layered collage prints, Vintage linens and finds, Jewelry, Dolls, Cards, Pottery, Poppers, and treats for your pup!Ballard Church is holding a community garage sale from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday in the T-Mobile parking lot at 15th & 85th. They’re getting rid of unwanted things and EVERYTHING IS FREE.Celebrate this beloved Swedish Christmas tradition honoring St. Lucia’s message of light and hope on Sunday at 5 p.m. Our Redeemers’ 46th annual Luciatåg features youth in an all Swedish program (with English translation). Afterwards, all are invited to a reception with coffee, Swedish goodies, music and dancing around the Christmas tree. Good will offering collected. All are welcome.
