“Postpone grocery shopping in the slush and instead have your Saturday evening dinner at Ballard High School!” writes Angeline in the forum.

The 53rd annual annual spaghetti dinner is a major fundraiser for the BHS music program.T here will be performances by all twelve choral and instrumental groups under the direction of Ms. Courtney Rowley and Mr. Michael James. The theme for the night is: “Lights, Camera, Action: Music from Stage to Screen.”

I attended last year and the spaghetti was great. The music parents have the routine down, they have a yummy homemade sauce recipe, and they get a local bakery to provide high-quality bread (no mushy perfab rolls). Comes with a salad and dessert, too. It’s a great deal. In this mom’s opinion, it would be worth that amount to see the very talented jazz groups alone perform … add in the orchestra, chamber groups, choral ensembles, symphonic band, etc. and a dinner away from home with cleanup done by someone else … well, wow. How can you beat it?
The dinner is at the high school from 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/kids.
