Two land use proposals for large residential buildings in Ballard

Two separate land use proposals have been made public in Ballard. One is at 5601 24th Ave NW, which is a proposed seven-story structure containing 124 residential units, over 3,300 sq. ft. of ground-level commercial  retail and parking for 110 vehicles. The other is at 6401 32nd Ave. NW, where the proposal is for a, “new or partially retained three- to four-story mixed-use structure containing 15-18 residential units and up to 5,475 sq. ft. of commercial space.” Parking for 13 to 18 vehicles will be provided.

Early design guidance meetings are scheduled for March 12 at 6:30 p.m. (for 6401 32nd Ave. NW) and 8 p.m. (for 5601 24th Ave NW) at the Sunset Hill Community Association at 3003 NW 66th St. At the early design guidance meeting, the applicants will present information about the site and vicinity.  The public may offer comments regarding the design and siting of a development on the subject site, and the Design Review Board members will offer comments and identify those Citywide Design Guidelines of highest priority in developing the site.
