Tonight at The People’s Pub, a local group will help to put on a rummage sale fundraiser, complete with a festival celebrating facial hair. It’s called the “Beard and Stache Festival,” part of The World is Fun‘s month-long celebration of beards and mustaches to help area foster kids.
From 5 p.m to 9 p.m., The People’s Pub will host a happy hour rummage sale that will donate 100 percent of proceeds to Treehouse for Kids. Bekki Szlosek from The Peoples Pub says bar manager Craig Drummond, “wants to raise $1,000 this year for this great cause and will publicly shave his head and face at the final Beard & Stache event if this goal is reached.” She says he’s been growing both for the past two years, but wants to help foster kids in Seattle by shaving it off. Szlosek says the pub will extend their happy hour food and drink specials until 9pm during the rummage sale.
