For the past few months, writers have been reading their original work at Egan’s Ballard Jam House, and Tuesday, June 12 at 7 p.m. will be the final Ballard Writers Jam of the summer. It’s the third event of its kind, and according to Peggy Sturdivant, each one has been a full house.
From Sturdivant:
Last month local writer Scott McCredie (Balance) said he would never go onstage. This month he’s doing it. Faye Thornburgh, a high school senior, will make her debut. Jennifer D. Munro, who has lived in Ballard all of her 24 married years (The Erotica Writer’s Husband & Other Stories) will discuss how her husband almost died on their wedding night. Wendy Hinman tells a tale not included in her recent book, Tightwads on the Loose. Rita Bresnahan (Walking One Another Home: Moments of Grace in the Midst of Alzheimer’s) will tell a very different story (involving a toy giraffe) and Helen Landalf (Flyaway) and her husband Steven Bishofsky will combine music and words to tell how cancer brought them together.
