As we told you earlier this week, tomorrow is the start of Viking Days at the Nordic Heritage Museum in Ballard.

The event starts at 9 a.m. with a pancake breakfast, and the fun will continue throughout the day with music, Nordic food and crafts, and a Valhalla beer garden. “…Delicacies from each of the five Nordic countries will be available for purchase, including Swedish meatballs, Norwegian lefse, Danish aebleskiver, Finnish voileipä (open-faced sandwiches), and Icelandic sweets like vinarterta, a delicious layer cake,” according to the event info.
There will be dozens of musical groups playing on multiple stages in the museum and on the festival grounds, which will range from traditional folk to rock. One of the more popular attractions is the Viking Encampment, which will be set up all weekend. It gives people a change to see what a day in the life of Viking is really like, “and a battle or two may even erupt.”
The whole family is welcome to the free event, with kid’s activities as well: “kids will have their very own low-cost craft projects and the Nordic Spirit ship will be set up for close inspection and photos.”
