A man has been arrested after fleeing from police and hiding under a deck in Ballard. The man was wanted for a court order violation, burglary, and a felony warrant, according to the SPD Blotter.
From SPD:
… Just shortly after 7:00 a.m. this morning the victim received a call at work from her ex-boyfriend saying that he was in front of her apartment building in the 5800 block of 5 Ave NW and apparently wanted some property.
Officers responded and when they made contact at the residence discovered that the suspect had entered past a non-consenting roommate and was now destroying property upstairs. The suspect managed to escape the apartment and flee into the neighborhood on foot. Numerous officers converged on the area.
After about 30 minutes of meticulous yard to yard searching, an officer located the suspect hiding deep under a patio type deck several blocks away. Officers were able to talk the suspect out of hiding and he surrendered under his own power.
The man was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary—DV and the felony warrant. Misdemeanor charges for the court order violation and obstructing were requested.
