Yesterday morning at Loyal Heights Elementary, a number of cars were broken into while parents were dropping their kids off at school.
Here is a note sent to parents of students from the school:
On the morning of Thursday, September 20th prior to the start of school, an individual broke windows in several cars belonging to Loyal Heights parents and stole possessions from within the cars, which were parked on 26th Ave. NW. The individual then fled the scene in a vehicle (later identified as previously stolen) and his license plate was reported to the police. Please be alert to the risk of “smash and grab” car thefts, avoid leaving valuables in your car, and watch for any suspicious activity near the school.
